PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic discriminating device and a plastic discriminating method capable of continuously discriminating the kinds of plastic with high accuracy regardless of a size of a discriminating object including plastic.

SOLUTION: This plastic discriminating device comprises a sampling part 2 for sampling a test piece 1 from the discriminating object including plastic, a discriminating part 3 comprising a detecting part 4 for discriminating the kind of plastic included in the test piece 1, and a supplying part 5 for supplying the test piece 1 to the detecting part 4 from the sampling part 2.
