PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for vehicle which prevents a driver from feeling discomfort by setting different shift speeds in the cases of changing speed when starting controlling by a shift control device and while controlling by the shift control device. SOLUTION: The shift control means calculates a predetermined target input shaft rotation number and the shift execution means controls so that the target input shaft rotation number is achieved. The shift speed setting means sets a predetermined shift speed when the shift control means starts to control. When shifting while the shift control means is controlling, the shift speed is set slower than the predetermined shift speed. When the shift control means starts to control, a transient target input shaft rotation rises with a sharp rising gradient or a predetermined shift speed, an actual input shaft rotation number rises rapidly in accordance with it and approximately achieves the final target input shaft rotation number.
