PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a carburetor during a preheating standby period. SOLUTION: This combustion device comprises the carburetor 13, a conveyance path 17 communicating with the downstream side of the carburetor 13, a flame hole 18 which is arranged on the downstream side of the conveyance path and forms a flame 40, a temperature detecting part 39 which is provided on one section of the conveyance path 17, and a control part 38 which receives a signal from the temperature detecting part 39 and changes the control temperature of the carburetor 13 during the preheating standby period. Even if temperature variations of the conveyance path 17 occur because of fluctuations of the outside air temperature and temperature difference among regions, the control part 38 receiving the signal from the temperature detecting part 39 changes the preheating standby temperature of the carburetor 13 and keeps the temperature of the inside of the conveyance path 17 so as to prevent vaporized gas 42 from condensation, thus combustion failure caused by the generation of white smoke and accumulation of fuels can be prevented and reduction in the power consumption can be accurately performed.
