PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk player whose thickness is reduced, which can vertically and horizontally be placed, and in which the cost is reduced by reducing the number of components. SOLUTION: A slide member 30 slides on slide sections 21 and 51 defined between a first member 20 and a second members 50 following the insertion of a disk 13. Through this slide, the slide member 30 carries out the change-over operation of detecting means 81, 82a and 82b, and the diameter of the disk 13 is discriminated. The disk player has inclination support means 21 and 34 which can incline the slide member 30 in a vertical plane to the sliding direction in the slide sections 21 and 51. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
