PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent for the simultaneous detection of HCV core antigens and antibodies. SOLUTION: The reagent for the simultaneous detection of HCV core antigens and antibodies is directed to core protein sequences and anti-core antibodies that can be used to detect core antigens and anti-core antibodies in serum collected from HCV infected individuals.
