A conversion kit for a delay lever, recoil-operating automatic weapon is provided to convert it to direct, blow- back operation. A bolt/bolt-carrier assembly substitutes for the normal bolt and bolt carrier assembly. This substitute assembly cooperates with other components in the weapon to permit operation of the weapon with low energy ammunition that fires low mass projectiles.
