<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical microscope which enables an assistant to change his or her position and can deal with common use for various services. <P>SOLUTION: Binocular luminous fluxes are formed by an objective lens 11 and a pair of relay lenses 12 and the stereoscopic observation equivalent to that of an operator is made possible by using a binocular eyepiece optical system 40B for the assistant in a position where the assistant faces the operator through a splitting optical system. Part of at least one binocular luminous flux is made incident on a pupil splitting optical system 20 so as to form the binocular luminous fluxes subjected to pupil splitting, thereby enabling the stereoscopic observation by the pupil splitting even when the optical system 40B side is rotated and is set in the bearing on the side for the operator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
