<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present optimum processing in accordance with the condition of an original image to a user, to enable the user to easily select copying operation in an optimum condition and to easily realize the copying operation intended by the user. <P>SOLUTION: In performing the copying operation, an optimum operation mode for image data read by a scanner part is decided, and the decided operation mode is presented to the user.
