PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyethylene resin comprising mainly ethylene, excellent in formability into a film by T-die extrusion, nonstretchable, excellent for cutting in all directions, and excellent in the ease of tearing because of its moderate tear strength, and a film and a packaging material which are obtained from the resin, nonstretchable, excellent for cutting in all directions, and excellent in the ease of tearing because of moderate tear strength thereof. SOLUTION: This easily tearable film is formed from a composition containing 55-100 wt.% of an ethylene/1-butene copolymer obtained by copolymerizing 80-99.9 mol% of ethylene and 0.1-20 mol% of 1-butene with 0-10 mol% of a 3-12C (except 4C)α-olefin in the presence of a metallocene catalyst and having a density, a melt flow rate and a melt tension each in a specified range, and 0-45 wt.% of an olefin polymer.
