PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for enlarging and making understandable small and illegible characters, an indistinct image, or the like, on the display of a portable telephone. SOLUTION: Members (7), (6) and (16) are fixed to the periphery of the opposite sides of a robust and lightweight lens having an enhanced magnifying power at close range by using Fresnel lenses (10), (11) and (12) of high transparency. The portions of the Fresnel lenses (10), (11) and (12) are secured at the upper part of a machine body display (B) by securing them while clamping at the edge (F) parts of the opposite peripheral sides (C) of the display (B) which can thereby be viewed while being enlarged. Furthermore, a member (3g) for containing a telescopic member (f) is fixed to the opposite sides on the periphery of the machine body display (B) and a frame (h) is fixed to the forward end member (e) of the member (f) thus contained along with the Fresnel lenses (10), (11) and (12). The display (B) of a portable telephone (A) is made understandable significantly by moving the frame up and down on the display (B), thereby enlarging the display (B). COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
