<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core of a secondary battery electrode plate, which can prevent separation or fall-off of the active material by increasing its adhesion. <P>SOLUTION: In the core 11 of the negative electrode plate 10, a groove section 11B of a V-shape cross section having a prescribed depth that is not as thick as the iron foil 11A is formed with a prescribed pitch with the front and rear side half pitch shifted on both sides of the iron foil 11A, and the cross sectional shape is made zigzag.
