<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an emitted light quantity of an EL element by preventing the emitted light quantities (brightness) of the EL elements from dispersing in each scanning line. <P>SOLUTION: The number of lit display pieces of EL elements EL11-ELnn on a display panel 1 is counted by a counter 33, and this count value is stored in a RAM 36. Based on this count value, a PMOS 52 in each of the cathode output circuits 50-1-50-3 is controlled on-off and also NMOS 53-1-53-3 are controlled on-off, and ON-state resistance values of these NMOS 53-1-53-3 are controlled according to the variation of a total current value flowing into the output node N53 from each scanning line COM1-COMn. Thus, even if the lit display pieces of each scanning line COM1-COMn vary in number, an output voltage value at the output node N53 is held almost constant, the emitted light quantities are prevented from dispersing in each scanning line COM1-COMn by the variation in the number of lit display pieces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
