摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and high-performance collimator array by making optical axis alignment easier. SOLUTION: The collimator array 20 has four collimators comprising rod lenses 21 to 24 and optical fibers 25 to 28 arranged to have their optical axes parallel to each other, in which the positional relations between the optical axes of the rod lenses and the central axes of the cores of the optical fibers are set according to the required exit angles and exit positions of exit beams. The required exit angles and exit positions of the exit beams can be obtained simply by arranging the rod lenses and optical fibers of the respective collimators in such a manner that the optical axes of the rod lenses of the respective collimators and the central axes of the cores of the optical fibers attain the set positional relations. The need for such vexatious aligning work as to align the exit angles and exit positions of the exit beams is eliminated relating to the respective collimators. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
