PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric sensor and its manufacturing method capable of preventing the displacement of a lens due to curing of an adhesive for fixing the lens to a container body. SOLUTION: The container body 4 holding a rectangular lens 2a is provided with a holding groove 4a for containing one of both side edges of the lens 2a. A filling cutout 4b for filling the adhesive for fixing the lens 2a to the center of the side edge of the lens 2a contained in the holding groove 4a is arranged at a place facing one of both faces of the lens 2a on the holding groove 4a.
