摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a damping force generated in the low speed area and high speed area of a piston, and prevent the basic length of a hydraulic shock absorber from increasing, and also to improve an operability for adjusting the damping force. SOLUTION: Among oil chambers 28 and 29 formed in a cylinder 21, the oil chamber 28 on a piston rod side is connected to a reservoir 50 formed on the outside of the cylinder. Two parallel oil passages 33 and 34 are formed in a seal case 23 installed on the upper part of the cylinder. The seal case 23 comprises a needle valve 35 capable of adjusting the opening area of the oil passage 33, a poppet valve 37 closing the oil passage 34 by the energizing force of a spring 40, and an adjuster 39 capable of adjusting the energizing force of the spring 40. A part of oil flowing out of the oil chamber 28 in extending stroke is allowed to flow out through the needle valve 35 and the poppet valve 37 to control the damping forces generated in that stroke.
