<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an illustration image of a desired type in correlation with a live-action image. <P>SOLUTION: This image conversion device comprises a live-action image space constitution part 108 for subjecting characteristic data of two or more live-action images to main component analysis to constitute a live-action image space; illustration image space constitution parts 110A and 110B for subjecting the characteristic data of two or more illustration images of types A and B corresponding to the live-action images to main component analysis to constitute an illustration image space very type; correlation storage parts 109A and 109B for storing the correlation between the live-action image space and the illustration image space every type; a characteristic parameter deriving part 103 for projecting an inputted live-action image to the live-action image space to derive a characteristic parameter; a characteristic parameter conversion part 104 for converting the derived characteristic parameter to a characteristic parameter in a selected type of illustration image space; and an image generation part 105 for generating an illustration image in the selected type of illustration image space by use of the converted characteristic parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
