<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having such an excellent feature that a problem of a bright point defect due to an electric short circuit between a display electrode and a common electrode on an array substrate to be used for the liquid crystal display device is solved to turn the bright defect to a dark defect. <P>SOLUTION: A part on which the common electrode for supplying a reference signal from both the sides of the display electrode and an insulating film is not superposed to the display electrode in each pixel is formed on the array substrate of the liquid crystal display device, irradiation space capable of separating the common electrode is formed on the part where the display electrode and the common electrode are not superposed to each other, and when there is a bright defect due to electric short circuit between the display electrode and the common electrode, the irradiation space of the common electrode is irradiated with laser light, the display electrode in a pixel is separated, a gate wire and a TFT drain are electrically short-circuited and the bright defect is turned to a dark defect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
