<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery with a long life by minimizing the deterioration of performance due to overcharging by protecting the battery from high and low temperatures. <P>SOLUTION: The power source device for an automobile comprises a battery unit 1, a temperature control circuit 2 judging the temperature control of the battery unit 1, a heat retention system 3 controlled by the temperature control circuit 2, controlling the temperature of the battery unit in a state that an ignition switch is turned off, and an input circuit 6 inputted a judgement whether the temperature of the battery unit 1 should be controlled or not. For the power source device, in the case that the temperature of the outside air exceeds the range of the set temperature, and that the temperature control circuit 2 judges that it should be turned into a temperature control mode, and that the input circuit 6 is turned into a temperature control mode, the heat retention system 3 does not control the temperature of the battery unit 1 if the input circuit 6 is not in a temperature control mode, even if the outside temperature is such a level that the heat retention system 3 should control the temperature of the battery unit 1 and the temperature control circuit 2 judges that it should be turned into a temperature control mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
