PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly fuse a tape to a paired strand part at a fixed speed even when manufacturing a flat cable having different intervals between fused parts. SOLUTION: In this flat cable manufacturing method provided with a first process 5 to manufacture the flat cable 20 wherein a fused part formed by placing a plurality of insulated wire cores 4 side by side and integrally fusing a tape 3 with it and a paired strand part formed by paired stranding the insulated wire cores 4 and placing the tape 3 along them in a non-fused state are alternately formed, and to feed the flat cable at an unfixed speed V, a second process 14 to fuse the tape to the paired strand part, and a third process 17 to receive the cable which has passed through these processes, a fourth process 6 to once absorb the cable fed from the first process 5 and to feed it to the second process 14 is provided, and a speed control for a cable receiving speed is carried out in the third process 17 to fix a cable feeding speed in the second process 14.
