PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device capable of maintaining excellent cleaning performance even in the case of using small-sized spherical toner. SOLUTION: This transfer device is equipped with a transfer belt 6 stretched and laid between a driving roller 11 and a driven roller 12, a transfer bias current applying means 13 arranged inside the belt 6, and transfer belt cleaning means 14 and 15. In the device, a toner image formed on a photoreceptor is transferred to transfer paper by electrostatic force by a transfer bias current, and the transfer paper is carried while it is held on the surface of the transfer belt.
