Acrylic or oil paints are commonly applied to a canvas made from linen fibres and the canvas has an aesthetic function only. The use of an electrically conductive fabric renders the painted fabric suitable for a number of practical and technological functions. The fabric can be made from polymer fibres, carbon or graphite fibres.
