Armchair with extending footrest has two gears linked by chain

An armchair (1) has an extending footrest (5) which is operated by a lever fixed to the chair frame (1). A first gear wheel (6) is attached to the frame and has a pivot with a rotating brace (7). A lever (8) is attached to one end of the footrest (5), and a gear wheel (9) at the other. The brace rotates on the gear (9) axle and esp. the two gears (6, 9) are linked by a chain (10) or belt.
