A data communication system capable of freely performing effective data communication even between equipments respectively performing data communication according to different protocols is provided. In the system, a data communication apparatus (home station) 102 which is provided between a first equipment 101 performing wireless data transmission/reception according to a first protocol (PIAFS protocol) and second equipments 103 to 105 connected to a bus (home bus) according to a second protocol (IEEE 1394 Standard protocol) performs format conversion to data wirelessly transmitted from the first equipment 101 into data according to the second protocol, and then transmits the converted data to the second equipments 103 to 105 through the bus.
