Disclosed is a gastric ring (1) comprising: - a band (3) defining a median portion (3a) surrounding the stomach wall and two lateral portions (3b) connected to each other for keeping the band (3) around the stomach (2); and assembly means (4) for connecting said lateral portions (3b) to each other and keeping said lateral portions (3b) in an assembled position. The inventive band (3) consists of a structure of filaments made of a biosorbent material.
