The invention relates to a method of printing at least one image on a support (S), whereby the way in which the image is seen is dependent on the angle at which the printed element is viewed (V2, V3). According to the invention, a print layer (2) is inserted between (a) a decorative print layer (1), which is formed by (i) a series (S1) of strips from said image and (ii) at least one other series (S2) of printed strips from another image or non-printed strips, and (b) a print layer (3) in the form of ink-based masking strips. The aforementioned print layer (2) acts as a separator between the decorative layer (1) and the masking layer (3) so that the masking layer (3) is in relief. The invention is suitable for use in printing on a leather or textile support.
