One of the fixed window panes in a motor vehicle such a rear window (4) or sunroof (6) acts as a membrane for a loudspeaker and connects to a loudspeaker drive system (12,14,16). The motor vehicle rear window or sunroof can be used as a loudspeaker membrane or can form part of a comprehensive loudspeaker system e.g. as a bass loudspeaker. The loudspeaker system links to an edge area (8,10) on the rear window.
