<p>Improvements in preventing heat- and moisture-shrink problems in specific polypropylene tape fibers are provided. Said fibers include a nucleating agent such as dibenzylidene sorbitol based compounds, sodium benzoate, and sodium or lithium phosphate salts. Specific methods of manufacture of said tape fibers, as well as fabric articles made threfrom, are also encompassed within this invention. In particular, one article made therefrom comprises a carpet article (110) having a pile layer (112) comprised of face yarns (114) tufted through a primary backing made of the inventive polypropylene tape fibers (113).</p> |
