PCR AND HYBRIDIZATION METHODS UTILIZING ELECTROSTATIC TRANSPORTATION AND DEVICES THEREFOR

It is intended to provide a PCR method by electrostatic transportation wherein DNA-containing droplets can be accurately transported, the temperature of the droplets can be appropriately controlled and individual droplets can be separately controlled by treating with a primer; a hybridization method for electrostatic transportation ensuring quick and easy judgment; and devices therefor. Biological samples (droplets containing DNA and a primer) (9) are prepared in a chemically inactive liquid layer (8). Then the samples (9) are electrostatically transported with an electrode plate (1) for electrostatic transportation provided with an electrode (2) for electrostatic transportation. Temperature is controlled by heating the biological samples (9) at a definite position of the electrode plate (1) for electrostatic transportation, thereby carrying out PCR.
