A method for transmitting messages using two devices that are both configured as transmitter-receivers. The invention is characterized in that each device can function as an initiator device, whereby the other device can operate as a responding device that scans a plurality of radio channels, registering signal and noise intensity on said channels. Communication between the devices occurs via at least one selected channel from the plurality of channels. Selection is based on evaluation of the signal and/or noise intensity on at least one channel.
