The method for producing a permanent joint between an end section of a pipe (6) and a connector element (1) involves application of radial pressure to the pipe surface during a relative motion of the working element (4) of the forming tool. The pressure is applied in such a way that the pipe surface is plastically formed and is provided with a profile mating with the profile on the connector element. Also claimed are a device for implementation of the method, and an arrangement consisting of a pipe and a connector element.
