<p>Existing apparatus is utilised in a new manner in the continuous extraction of the oil from olives; as by-products, the complete olive stones are obtained on the one hand and the pulp, from which the oil has been removed and which is free from pieces of stone, on the other hand; it cna thus be used as a cattle feed. The olives are first stoned in a continuous apparatus which cuts up the fruit and separates the complete stones from the flesh which leaves the machine as a crushed paste. After sieving complete stones are added to the paste which is then passed through a continuous press; a good oil extraction results and the stopping up of the perforations of the cage of the press by small fragments of stone is prevented.</p> |
