X-ray spectroscopy device, incorporates SQUID and allows continuous high resolution measurement of energy of X-ray quanta emitted from electron beam activated sample

Method for X-ray spectroscopy, in which a material sample is fired at with an electron beam and the resulting X-ray quanta are analyzed in terms of an energy spectrum. The quantum energy content is measured as a heat pulse using a thermometer in the form of a detector resistance. The resistance of the detector is continuously measured with the impact of a quantum causing an impulse type temporal change. The thermometer is operated in the changeover region between superconductivity and ohmic conductivity. An Independent claim is also provided for a device for implementation of the method, the device incorporating a SQUID.
