The heating apparatus (10) for mobile use has an atomizing burner (12) in which fluid fuel can be supplied to an atomizing nozzle (14) by the rotor (44) of a pump (16) which is driven by a rotor (22) of an electric motor (18). A controller (74) is provided for the motor and the pump. The controller is disk-shaped , preferably a circuit board, with a protective cover, and extends radially to an axis of the electric motor. Independent claims also cover a vehicle containing such a heating apparatus.
