Organic illuminating diode comprises an organic layer (1) with a first partial region and a second partial region (1B) made from organic material and having different refractive indices. The partial regions form a layer having a composite structure. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the organic illuminating diode comprising applying material of the organic layer on a substrate so that a first partial region and a second partial region are formed during or after an illumination step.
