The line reel (1) has concentric elements (8) positioned around a main axis (Z) for reception of a fishing line, the concentric elements adjustable transverse to the main axis for altering the diameter of the line reel via a mechanical setting mechanism, having a threaded setting cylinder (5) and a cooperating threaded setting ring (7) acting on the concentric elements. An Independent claim for an angling spool with a fishing line reel is also included.
