The invention relates to a method of mounting a piece of handling equipment to an interface (13) of a containment chamber containing a sterile medium. The inventive method consists in: preparing and sterilising an assembly comprising the piece of handling equipment; and sterilising the chamber and a concealed part of the interface (13), after positioning an impervious device (26) on the flange (14) of the chamber and partially opening the chamber door (20). The assembly is then positioned at the interface (13). In this way, a double door is formed comprising the door belonging to the aforementioned piece of equipment and the chamber door which are connected to one another. Subsequently, said double door is opened using a handle which is provided on the door of the piece of equipment.
