<p>Pharmaceutical dosage forms are produced by injection molding a mixture of an active agent and a polymer under pressure, in the presence of a gas or supercritical fluid. Rapid release of the pressure causes the mixture to form a microcellular or supermicrocellular solid. The release of pressure takes place in the mold. The process is especially useful for producing durable flash-dissolve and gastro-retentive tablets.</p> |
