<p>When a plenty of television receivers are connected to one another, it is possible to realize a higher function than when each of the receivers is used alone. When a television broadcast program is displayed on a parent apparatus (television receiver) (1), its characteristic is detected. Furthermore, in the parent apparatus (1), a scene change is detected from the characteristic of the television broadcast program and a child apparatus (television receiver) 211 is controlled so as to display image data of the frame immediately after the scene change. The child apparatus 211 displays the frame immediately after the scene change. After this, when a scene change is generated in the image data displayed on the parent apparatus (1), the image data of the frame immediately after the scene change is displayed on the child apparatus 211 to replace the image data which has been displayed.
