Device for testing objects, especially spheres or balls (6), has a camera (5) and an object support (3) with retaining parts (4) for secure holding of the objects. The support can be driven and is held in an inclined or horizontal position. At the outlet from the supply device (2) has resistance element or edge for controlling the feeding of objects to the object support. An Independent claim is included for a corresponding method. A camera array can be used to enable viewing of the objects from different angles.
