<p>Appliance for the disposal of incontinence articles, on-site, has a rotating horizontal drum with high pressure water jets, a water extraction pump, heater, and a vacuum extraction unit to remove the dry residue. The appliance for on-site disposal of incontinence articles has a rotating horizontal drum within a housing (21). High pressure water jets are within the drum to break down the compressed material in it, with additives to combat odor and disinfect the drum contents. A pump (50) extracts the water from the drum for disposal. A heating plate dries the remaining solid material in the drum which, when dry, is extracted by a vacuum cleaner type unit (70), with openings in the drum wall to detach any clinging matter. The extracted drum contents are passed to a collection container (71) which can be a can, bag or sack. A control system operates the drum drive, the high pressure water jets, drying and extraction actions, using a programmed time switch or a freely programmed control.</p> |
