<p>An examining method for speeding a customs clearing procedure including authentication of a brand-name item to resultantly lower the labor cost and to enable cost cutting by paperless management. A writer of a company producing or selling a brand-name item transmits a company code etc. encrypted with an encryption key to an ID tag attached to a brand-name item. The IC tag stores the encrypted company code etc. An examining device of the official authenticating the brand-name item receives the information transmitted from the ID tag, decrypts the received information with an encrypting key, compares the data obtained by the decryption with the pre-stored company codes, judges whether or not they agree, and outputs the results of the judgment. When the brand-name item is judged to be genuine, the export is permitted, and then an employee of a shipping company encrypts the information written on a B/L and stores it on the ID tag. The B/L information is read from the ID tag when necessary, decrypted with a decryption key, and the decrypted information is outputted.</p> |
