Method for determining the mask pressure for pressure regulation in a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) unit has the following steps: calculation of a theoretical pressure for the location in which the sensor (3) is attached to the housing of the CPAP unit; calculation of a correction pressure dependent on the actual air stream that is produced in the CPAP device; and repetition of the preceding steps. The invention also relates to a corresponding CPAP device and testing apparatus therefor.
