A pressure limiter (6) opens, and restrains a fuel below to threshold setting pressure, if the fuel pressure within a high-pressure piping path exceeds a threshold setting pressure. A solenoid valve (7), normally open, controls the fuel pressure within the high-pressure piping path after the power safety valve opens. The solenoid valve is provided at the downstream side of the pressure limiter. The high-pressure piping to the injector of each air cylinder passes through the common rail from a high-pressure pump.
