Discharge grid comprises a grid made from an electrically-conducting material as a cathode in a vacuum chamber. The grid is formed from flat joining parts (110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180), to form a reaction volume. The parts are made from metal sheets, and are formed as concentric rings. Preferred Features: At least one ring component comprises half ring elements. The ring components are connected together by slits, in which one slit in the inner edge of one ring is assigned to a slit in the outer edge.
