PURPOSE: Optical fiber cutting equipment containing a cutting rod equipped with a sliding blade and a temperature regulator is provided to form the cross section of optical fiber clearly and easily at a low tensile stress. CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber cutting equipment comprises the parts of: a fixing part(20) applying tensile stress in the state of holding an optical fiber(10); a cutting rod(30), placed to be perpendicular to the optical fiber, equipped with a blade(32) for cutting and sliding optical fiber with the surface of optical fiber, wherein the cutting rod forms a curvature between the top and bottom of its end part, and the blade is paralleled to the cutting rod in the position away from the end of the rod; a motor(40) for coming and going the cutting rod on the surface of optical fiber; a temperature regulator(50) using Peltier unit, which lowers temperature when the cutting rod passes the surface of optical fiber, and elevates temperature when the cutting rod returns to original position to prevent blade from steaming up.
