A cutting tool comprises a holder 1 and a cutting insert 5 which mounted on a seating member 4 in a recess 2 at the end of the holder, the insert being clamped in the tool holder recess by a pivotable pin 12 located in a bore 6 in the base of the recess and which extends through bores 10 and 9 in the seating member and insert respectively. The pin is pivotable about a shoulder 12c thereon within the bore 6 by means of a conical-ended screw which co-operates with an inclined face 12e on the bottom of the pin to effect the clamping and releasing action. Locating means is provided on the pin in the form of a spring member 15 extending longitudinally of the pin and secured thereto which engages in a groove 7 in the holder to prevent rotational displacement and to permit spring releasing of the pin when the screw pressure is released. |
