PURPOSE: Provided are a high efficiency green phosphor which is suitable for long length UV light emitting diode(LE) and actively light emitting liquid crystal display, and a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION: The green phosphor based on barium strontium silicate, is represented by formula 1: (Ba1-xSrx)2SiO4:Eu2+yMz(wherein M is Ho, Er, Ce, Y or Gd, 0<x<1, 0.001<=y<=0.1, 0.0001<=z<=0.1). The green phosphor is produced by the steps of (i) dissolving barium, strontium, europium, silicon compounds, and rare earth metal compounds selected from erbium, holmium, cerium, gadolinium and yttrium in a solvent; (ii) spraying the solution by using a liquid-drop generator, and drying and heating the solution at a reactor temperature of 500-1200 deg.C to form a phosphor powder; and (iii) firing the powder at 900-1350 deg.C under reducing atmosphere for 1-10 hours. |
