PURPOSE: An optical torque sensor is provided to determine torque activated to a torsion bar by sensing an absolute angle and a rotate angle of the torsion bar using light emitted from a light emitting device. CONSTITUTION: An optical sensor is composed of a light emitting device(100) for emitting a certain light, a disk having a bar cord part(201) and a reflect type grating face(200) and installed both side of a torsion bar, and a receiving device(300). The bar cord part(201) determines a certain period of the light emitted from the light emitting device, and the reflect type grating face(200) for determining an absolute position in the certain period. The receiving device senses an absolute angle and a rotate angle of the torsion bar by receiving light reflected from the reflect type grating face(200).
