<p>A steel cord (1) for the reinforcement of rubber articles having M parallel + N structure consists of a core (2) of two steel filaments (2a,2b) and a single sheath (3) of seven or eight steel filaments (4), wherein the diameter dc of the core filaments is within a range of 0.30 - 0.38 mm, wherein the diameter ds of the sheath filaments is within a specified range depending on whether the sheath comprises seven or eight filaments, and wherein a twisting pitch P of the sheath filaments is not less than 50 times the diameter dc of the core filament but not more than 120 times the diameter ds of the sheath filament. <IMAGE></p> |
