SILICON OPTICAL BENCH FOR OPTICAL COMMUNICATION MODULE

PURPOSE: An SiOB(Silicon Optical Bench) for an optical communication module is provided not to request another wire by conductive devices formed in a plate, without inductance caused by the wire, and to have an SMD(Surface Mount Device) structure mounted on a printed circuit board, thereby implementing easy assembling with high yield of the module. CONSTITUTION: On a surface(120) of a silicon substrate(101), an LD(Laser Diode)(130) and an mPD(monitor Photo Detector)(140) are located. The LD(130) and the mPD(140) are located on an optical axis at predetermined intervals. A channel-type lens sheet is formed in front direction of the LD(130). Conductive layers electrically connected to the LD(130) and the mPD(140) are located on an upper side of the silicon substrate(101). An SiOB is mounted on a package. A pierced hole is formed in a lower part of conductive lines of the SiOB. An electric connector electrically connects an element on the SiOB without another wire.
